EzaLife Inc. Launches Equity Crowdfunding Campaign on StartEngine to Accelerate Growth of FDA-Registered Button HuggieⓇ Device

Denver, CO – 11/13/2025 – EzaLife, an emerging leader in simple, safe, and secure medical device securement solutions, today announced the launch of its equity crowdfunding campaign on StartEngine, inviting the public to invest in the company’s mission to revolutionize feeding tube care for children and adults. The company’s first product, called The Button HuggieⓇ, is a first-of-its-kind securement device for gastrostomy buttons (low profile g-tubes).
Following institutional funding from Children’s Hospital Colorado and CU Innovations, as well as winning several competitive grants, EzaLife is now opening the opportunity for individual investors to join its journey. This campaign allows anyone—not just Accredited Investors, or Qualified Buyers—to own a piece of a company that is transforming the standard of care for millions of patients and caregivers worldwide.
“Every year, a half a million families in the U.S. face the challenges of caring for a loved one with a feeding tube,” said John Allen, CEO of EzaLife. “The Button HuggieⓇ was born from a surgeon’s desire to make daily care safer, cleaner, and pain-free. With support from the StartEngine community, we can expand access to this life-changing innovation and continue developing new solutions for patients who deserve better.”
The Button HuggieⓇ is an FDA-registered, patented medical device designed to replace outdated tape-and-gauze methods for securing gastrostomy buttons (g-buttons). Co-invented by Dr. Steven Moulton, a pediatric surgeon at Children’s Hospital Colorado, and a team of graduate engineering students from the University of Colorado, The Button HuggieⓇ is a precision-engineered solution that simplifies daily care, reduces the risk of accidental dislodgement, and minimizes the pain, anxiety, and frustration often associated with feeding tube management.
A recent multi-center clinical trial at four major children’s hospitals [Children’s Hospital Colorado, Stanford Children's Hospital, Primary Children's Hospital (Salt Lake City), and Phoenix Children's Hospital], found that those using the Button Huggie to secure and manage new gastrostomy buttons experienced significantly fewer cases of accidental g-button dislodgement, compared to those using the “tic-tac-toe” or tape and gauze method for g-button securement. Parents also reported 2.7 times greater satisfaction with the Button Huggie compared to tape and gauze.
“This is a huge step forward for our team and for anyone caring for a child or adult with a g-button,” said Dr. Moulton. “Families have long shared how stressful accidental dislodgements and daily g-button care can be. Seeing The Button HuggieⓇ reduce dislodgement episodes by 77%—while boosting caregiver satisfaction—is incredibly rewarding. It’s a clear example of how thoughtful innovation and persistence can tackle a problem that once seemed unsolvable. The result is not only a groundbreaking medical device but also a new line of securement solutions designed to make everyday life easier and less stressful for those with simple to complex needs.”
EzaLife’s early traction and FDA registration for over-the-counter sales provide a strong foundation for growth. Building on that foundation, EzaLife has recently shipped their first online consumer sales and believe they are now advancing toward healthcare-provider adoption, insurance reimbursement, and direct hospital-to-home distribution.
The funds raised through StartEngine will help EzaLife scale manufacturing, accelerate go-to-market efforts, expand product lines, and further clinical adoption.
